I am a London-based British photographer with an interest in landscape photography, cityscapes, travel photography and street portraiture. I’m a geographer by training; photography motivates and inspires me to stop and observe the world and gives me a reason to travel – to do a little digging to understand a place – and in a changing, globalising world to look at what defines different places. Many of my photographs are made in Asia and Africa where I am drawn to markets, old city streets and lanes, mosques, churches and temples.
I am strongly inspired by Steven McCurry’s portraits from India and around the world, and many other photographers too – ‘current’ photographers I am following include landscape and cityscape photographers such as Elia Locardi, Trey Ratcliffe, Daniel Chung and Thomas Heaton, ‘street’ portrait photographers like Sohail Karmani, Zack Arias, Joey L and Eric Kim, social documentary photographers like Christina Mittermeier and travel photographers including Michael Yamashita, Ami Vitale, Conor MacNeill, Christopher Roche, David duChemin, and Joel Santos.
